Duties and Responsibilities:
An ear, nose, and throat specialist is a physician responsible for surgical and medical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat as well of the related head and neck areas. They are also known as otolaryngologist.
Salary: $180,000-$230,000
The earning of an ear, nose, and throat specialist depend on experience, professional reputation, personality, geographic location, and skill of the physician. The salary ranges between $180,000-$230,000  annually. Self employed ENT specialist usually have a higher average income.
Education:
ENT specialist must complete at least five years of training in a surgical residency. This comprises a one year course in general surgery and a four year course in otolaryngology. Students wishing to start their career as otolaryngologist could study advanced science and math while in high school.
Demand for this Profession:
Otolaryngologist are doctors of medicine, therefore, like all physicians otolaryngologist must obtain a medical degree after college. ENT physicians must pass all three steps of USMLE. They must obtain a license to practice  medicine in the state where they work.
