Reflection: I think these are 10 great commandments to love by. They show honor and respect. This is something everyone should live by. I think this statement means that everyone should be respected and follow the rules. You should always have good spirits instead of negativity. Always do what is right.

A Promise

Student Success Statement

“A promise must never be broken” This statement was once stated by Alexander Hamilton. I agree with Alexader Hamilton. I agree because if you don’t keep a promise, then people don’t trust you. You become unloyal. For example, this morning 4 students were supposed to attend a WASC meeting at the library today, although they didn’t keep there promise. So they had to call 4 others to joing the meeting. Breaking a promise is very unfair to the other person. This is why I agree with Alexander Hamilton.

Orthopedic Surgeon Duties and Responsibilities: Orthopedic surgens work with the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. They perform surgeryto adress trauma, tumors, injuries, infections, and other conditions requiring surgical intervention. Salary: The median surgeon orthopedic salary is $452,686, with a range usually between $355,927-$585,605, however this can vary widely depending on a variety of factors. Education: After comepleting a 4 year bachelor’s degree program in biology, pre-medicine or a related field, aspiring orthopedic surgeons must complete four additionalyears of medical school, followed by a 4-5 year orthopedic surgery residency in a hospital. Demand for this Profession: Some requirements to become an orthopedic surgeon are active listening , critical thinker, complex problem solving, judgement and desicion making, reading comprehension, speaking, active learing, monitoring, writing, and coordinating skills. Reflection: I perosnally don’t think I have the skills to become an orthopedic surgeon. Although it is a consideration.

Student Success Statement

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.” This quote was stated by Henry David Thoreau. I think that Henry David is trying to emphasize that if you try to invest in something, the only thing that will work is kindness or goodness. Financially, things won’t work the best. But your kindess will always make everything work. For example, if you are having a competition with a person, the person who is being rude will lose. Although the one who is doing good or is putting effort, will win both the competition and mentally. I agree with Henry David Thoreau.

    

Orthodontist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Orthodontist are dentist who specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental irregularities, usually through the application of dental braces. Orthodontist analyze and solve the dental problems of their patients. Daily activities include evaluating the needs of new patients, creating teeth molds, fitting orthodontic appliances and checking on the progress on individual patients.

Salary:

The orthodontist working in offices of dentists have a median wage of $196,170 per year.

Education:

The education needed to become an orthodonstist is a bachelor’s degree in a science related field, four years of dental school, three years of specialized training, and a state licensure required.

Demand for this Profession:

To become an orthodontist you need basic skills like, reading comprehension, active listening, writing, speaking, science, critical thinking, active learing, and monitoring.

       

Reflection: I do not think that being an orthodontist is my career choice. Going to the dentist is benefical for you, but definitely painful. I wouldn’t like to be the one doing that to a child, just because I know how that feels.

They’re Right

Student Success Statement

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they’re popular; you make them because they’re right.” This was a quote once stated by the former president of Notre Dame, Theodore Hesburgh. I think that Theodore is trying to emphasize that you should make a decision based upon how approriate or right your choice is. You shouldn’t choose something that bores you or is not to your interest, you should make the decision that both is right and fascinates you. For instance, if your so called friends ask you to smoke with them because the most popular kids are going to be there but you are uncomfortable and you still say yes, it is wrong. You schould always choose the right. You should remove yourself from those friends and do something beneficial for yourself. I personally agree with Theodore Hesburgh also. I agree because choosing choosing what is popular is very silly.

Optometry Technician or Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Optemetric technicians work with optometrists to assist in carrying out eye examinations and treatments. They most frequently work in offices but they can also be employed in eye care clinics and other vision treatment facilities. Optometrics duties include testing patients’ visual acuity, depth perception, pressure inside of the eye, color vision and pupil reflexes. In addition, they prepare exam schedules, ready exam rooms, assist in making or repairing eyeglasses, clean ocular equipment, and other duties as needed.

Salary:

The median salary as of 2015, is $30,590 for medical assistants.

Education:

To become an optometric technician, you should at least have a high school diploma. An optometric technician program or 2 years, associate degreewill make you more competitive as an optometric technician. Common courses to help you prepare for a career in optometry include anatomy, physiology of the eye, optics, optometric procedures, and optical devises.

Demad for this Profession:

Working as an optometric technician will will require a that you have a good rapport with patients, communicate effectively with superiors, and be presise in your work.

Reflection:

I personaly think that optometry technicain isn’t a career I’m fully interested in yet. Although it is a consideration.

Sound & Good

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound” (not good). Jospeh Smith once stated this quote. I think Jospeh is trying to say that we should make popular something that is beneficial and helpful or good. We shouldn’t make it popular define bad things that we do. So the bad habits that we have or do are or should be justified as unpopular not popular. I personally agre with Jospeh Smith. I agree because we should all be recognized by the good things that we do.

School Break Days

During our week off of school, I went to an amusement park, parties, park, theatres, and other places. I went to Knotts Berry Farm during the week. I got on the highest and fun rides. Fortunatley, the lines moved pretty quickly. I tried some food there and it tasted amazing. I also went to the park during the week. I celebrated a good friends birthday. I hadn’t seen him in a long time so my friends and I planned a party. We all had a fun time. Another activity I did, was go to the movies. I went to go watch Life. I loved the movie. It was really intense. The ending got me by surprise. I’ll be back again next week to watch another movie I really want to see. But it was also relaxing to take naps throughout the day during the week. I felt more relaxed. When I stayed home I had to clean but I still made it entertaining by putting my music as high as it could go. Then I would, lay down and watch some of my favorite shows or series on Netflix. For instance, Friends or 13 Reasons Why. But overall, I had a great spring break. It took some of the stress that I had off of me.

Be True

I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong. “ This was once stated by one of our former presidents, Abraham Lincoln. I think Abraham Lincoln is trying to explain that he isn’t trying to be the first place person al the time, he just wants to do what is right and he tends to stick by the person who wants to do right. Abraham Lincoln makes a very good point. For instance, if you are in a team and you see someone cheat but no one says anything because they want to win, but you’re the only one who steps up and tells the truth, then you get rewarded in some way, you should’t do it for a prize. It should all be done because it is the right thing to do. It should be done because you will always choose the right. I personally agree with Lincoln.

Optometrist examine the eyes and other parts of the visual system. They also diagnose and treat visual problems and manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes. They prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses as needed.

Salary:

The median annual wage for optometrists is $103,900. $49.95 per hour.

Education:

To become one you must complete a doctor of Optometry degree program and obtain a license to practice in a particular state. O.D programs take 4 years to complete , and most student have a bachelor’s degree before entering such program.

Demand for this Profession:

Some important qualities that are necessary to become a optometrist is desion-making, detail-oriented, interpersonal, and speaking skills.

               

Reflection:

I think that I will not be able to become an optometrist just because I myslef don’t have the best eyesight, so I feel like to help another I should help myself first to do the job correctly.

Character

“Character is higher than intellect.” This was stated by Ralph Waldo Emerson. I think that Ralph Emerson is trying to inform us that even if you’re the msot intellegent person, character will always come before. Character truly shows who you are. You can have intellegence but without character, your intellegence is pointless. For instance, if you are the first person done with a test out of your whole class and people ask if they can copy you and you say yes, that shows no character of you at all. So don’t take advantage of your intellect, be wise and have character as well. I also personally agree with Emerson.

“ I trust that my hard work will pay off. “ This was stated by Tyler Haws. I personally agree with Tyler Haws. I agree because even if you have a bad grade, if you work hard to achieve a good grade you will get it. For example, if you have been working as much as you can to pass your exam, there should be no problem for you to fail it. Although, if you didn’t study and you cheat off of your friend, you will eventually be caught. Hard work will always bring you something good.  It will get you what you want. It will get you where you want to be.
