Student Success Statement

Have you ever wondered, when is doing what is right wrong? Or when is doing what is wrong right? Well Thomas S. Monson states that “You can’t be right by doing wrong; you can’t be wrong by doing right.” This is Mr.Monson’s response. His answer is never. I personally agree with Thomas S. Monson because there is never a time to do bad or inapropriate things. There is only one way to do the things and it is the right way. You are never going to be good by doing wrong.

Enthusiasm

What is enthusiasm? Enthusiasm is when you have eager enjoyment. What does enthusiasm do to you? According to Dr.Norman Vincent Peale “Enthusiasm makes the difference.” If you’re having a bad day it’s probably because you’re being depressed. Maybe you’re being impatient. Maybe you’re not being enthusiastic. If you’re having a tough time you need to be more enthusiastic. You need to be happier, excited. You need to enjoy everything positive in your life. This helps alot. It brings all good vibes to you and everyone surrounding you. If you’re full of negativity saying you can’t accomplish something you’re just making yourself believe but you are capable of more than you think. But if you’re are optimistic, you can try and achieve what you want to. This is why I agree with Dr. Norman Vincent Peale.

Student Success Statement

Dean Smith was a men’s basketball coach. He was called called a “coaching legend” by the Basketball Hall of Fame. He coached for 36 years at the University of North Carolina. Said by Dean Smith himself, “I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.” Dean Smith never planned on becoming such a big star, but it happened. Dean Smith never cared about the attention, money, or fame. He always cared about doing the correct thing to do. Anyone can choose to do wrong in the world, but Mr.Smith never chose to. He could’ve cheated for all I know. But he didn’t. He chose to do the right thing for both him and his team. How does this apply to us? How is this revalent? This can teach us to always choose the right. He is a great role model to learn from.

Medical Illustrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

A medical illustrator is a professional artist with advanced education in both the life sciences and visual communication. Collaborating with scientist, physicians, and other specialists. Medical illustrators transform complex information into visual images that have the potential to communicate to broad audiences. Your responsibility as a medical illustrator is to produce artwork and designs for posters and patient information , create presentations, posters, illustrations, and slides or overheads transparencies of patients and treatment procedures for use in lectures, conferences, and medical journals. You will also have to design websites, such as hospital trusts’ websites, for patients, doctors, and general public, etc.

Salary:

Pay and conditions for medical illustrators are covered by the Agenda for Change (AfC) Pay Rates, consisting of nine bands. Typical starting salaries for junior medical illustrators are between $19,217 and $22,458 rising to 21,909 to $28,462 with experience (euro money.)

Education:

In order to become a medical illustrator you must have a master’s degree in the Education Field of Study. The skills you need are; artistic ability, creativity, interpersonal skills, and visual skills. Certification is voluntary.

Demand for this profession:

High school preparation, college preparation, graduate programs, continuing education, accredited programs is what you need for this career.

Reflection:

This profession does sound very interesting. I also do like drawing and helping out others. I think this a career I would take into consideration.

Karma Will Take Care of Itself

“It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (good results, destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.” This quote is informing us that if you lead yourself to a good path your dreams will of becoming whatever you want to be will soon take action into your life. Although if you are a dishonest, rude, unfair, ungrateful, etc. person not everything you hoped for will come to you. A hardworking, cooperative, helpful, loyal person will deserve what he/she wants. For instance, if you have done nothing but good in your life, pure good will come to you because you worked hard for it. On the other hand if you’ve just sat there waiting for everything you’ve always wanted to magically fall into your lap, it will not happen. That is not how it works. I agree with this inspirational quote. It was said by Dr. Randy Pausch

Make Your Passion Your Profession

What is your passion and why is it a passion of yours?

Something that I’ve always like to do is act. Ever since I was younger I loved to act. When I was in middle school I used to have an acting class that I enjoyed.

How can you make this passion your profession?

I’ve always wished to become an actress. It is a dream of mine. In order to do that I could probably take some acting classes and see where that takes me.

What education is required?

There is no specific education needed, I believe. I think an acting class is help enough. Although if you also want to have an education you can also do so. Although I do think it is a bit challenging.

What skills, talents, and attitudes are required?

If you are interested to work in the acting career, I personally think you need to have a loud, strong voice, movement, and having good sense of time probably also comes in handy. If you are able to take instructions and criticism well I believe that is also a great and useful tool in acting. A talent can be helpful in acting although it’s mostly if you can be able to perform in plays, movies, etc. and if you have experience. I think you should always have a positive attitude, especially because sometimes other people can be in a bad mood and if you are in a bad mood as well it makes thing more complicated. But if you are in a positive attitude you can makes someone day ten times better.

               

Reflection: I am willing to do anything and everything to become an actress. If I have to stay up all night and memorize lines I will. If I have to stay up and write a play on my own, I will. I am willing to do anything to accomplish my goal!

Student Success Statement

One of our presidents once said something very inspiring and accurate. He said “Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all the CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation.” The president who once said this was Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt. What Roosevelt is trying to inform is that the most helpful thing that has happened to the nation is educating the important things. Our body, mind, and character. He is stating that nothing can be better than this. More people should be taught. They should be taught how to be mentally stronger, physically stronger, and have a strong character. Having an education like this will make this nation stronger as well. I personally agree with Theodore Roosevelt.

Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the officers of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner’s specialty. Their duties include: answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission, and laboratory services,  and handling billing and bookkeeping.

Salary:

The median annual medical assistant salary is $36,844 as of  2016, with a range usually between $33,971-$39,779 not including bonus and benefit information and other factors that impact base pay. However everything varies depending on a number of factors including industry, company size, location, years of experience, and level education.

Education:

According to American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) aspiring medical assistants must graduate from a 2-year associate degree program in medical assistance accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health.

Demand for this Profession:

Some of the Important qualities that you need as a medical assistant are analytical skills, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and technical skills.

Reflection:Becoming a medical assistant does sound interesting, hardworking, and helpful, although I don’t think I have the skills to become one. I also don’t think I would like to become one

Body-Mind-Spirit

“Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well being.” This quote comes from our very own teacher, Mr. Haymore. To begin with, I think that this is a very important statement. I agree. I agree because if you don’t take care of your own self then you will be unhealthy. Physically, mentally, and spiritually unhealthy. For instance, if you are not eating healthy like eating chips, candy, or drinking soda that is not taking responsibility for your body. Taking responsibility for your body is exercising, eating healthy, etc. Taking care of your mind, I think means that you should continue being smart and be smarter. And taking care of your spirit, you can meditate to take care of your spirit.

Intelligence plus Character

“Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” This quote was said by the one and only Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. I agree with this statement. I agree with this statement because you won’t succeed in life with only one of these. If you have intelligence you will therefore need character as well. For example, let’s say that you are one of the smartest persons in the classroom, but you act like a fool all of the time. You have intelligence but lack of character. Or for instance, if you are the most well behaved person ever but you don’t read, pay attention, listen, etc. you’re still missing something.You’re still missing your intelligence. Intelligence and character is the goal of true education.

Kinesiologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

A kinesiologist examines and understands the physical capability of every individual and provides them proper training and assistance in case they require to amplify their physical capacity to sustain stress. They help strengthen the bones and muscles by designing proper exercise schedules and diet for the people who have to perform aggressive tasks throughout the day.

Salary:

A kinesiologist earns an average salary of $47,978 per year. For the first five to ten years in this position, pay increases somewhat, but any additional experience does not have a big effect on pay. Most people with this job move on to other positions after 20 years in this career.

Education:

Degrees in kinesiology typically cover the science of movement as it relates to the human body. In order to become a kinesiologist you need to have a bachelor’s degree.

Demand for this Proffession:

Applications of kinesiology  in human health include physical education teacher, the rehabilitation professions, such as physical and occupational therapy, as well as applications in the sport and exercise industries.Kinesiology  is a field of scientific study, and does not prepare individuals for clinical practice.

Reflection:

I dont think i would become a kinesiologist.
