Doctor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Doctors are healthcare professionals who promote, maintain,
and restore health through studying, diagnosing, and treating illness,
injuries, and other physical ailments. They provide primary care and when necessary,
refer patients to other healthcare providers.
Salary:
Doctors’ earnings ranged from about $156,000 a year for
pediatricians to about $315,000. However, it also depends on whether or not you
have education, experience location, etc. just like most careers.
Education:
The education requirements for becoming a doctor in the U.S
may vary by specialty. In general, doctors complete a four year undergraduate
degree program, spend four years in medical school and then complete 3-7 years
of residency training, before they are eligible for medical licensing.
Demand for this Profession:
Completing a bachelor’s degree program is necessary to
prepare prospective doctors to enter medical school. Though medical schools do
not require specific degrees for admission, many students opt for programs
heavy in biology and chemistry. You also need a residency training and medical
licensing.
Reflection: Do you beome one? Why or Why not?
If I had to choose a career in the medical field, I might
choose to be a doctor. I would choose to be a doctor because I love helping
other people out and I think I could make a difference.
