Duties and Responsibilities:
Orthodontist are dentist who specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental irregularities, usually through the application of dental braces. Orthodontist analyze and solve the dental problems of their patients. Daily activities include evaluating the needs of new patients, creating teeth molds, fitting orthodontic appliances and checking on the progress on individual patients.
Salary:
The orthodontist working in offices of dentists have a median wage of $196,170 per year.
Education:
The education needed to become an orthodonstist is a bachelor’s degree in a science related field, four years of dental school, three years of specialized training, and a state licensure required.
Demand for this Profession:
To become an orthodontist you need basic skills like, reading comprehension, active listening, writing, speaking, science, critical thinking, active learing, and monitoring.
Reflection: I do not think that being an orthodontist is my career choice. Going to the dentist is benefical for you, but definitely painful. I wouldn’t like to be the one doing that to a child, just because I know how that feels.
