Duties and Responsibilities:
A lawyer should strive to attain the highest level of skill, to improve the law and the legal profession, and to exemplify the legal profession’s ideal of pubilc service. A lawyers responsibilities as a representative of clients, an officer of the legal system, and a public citizen are usually harmonious.
Salary:
The median annual wage for lawyers was $118,160 in May 2016. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $56,910, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $208,000.
Education:
Becoming a lawyer usually take 7 years of full time study after high-school, 4 years of undergraduate study, followed by 3 years of law school. Most states and jurisdictions require lawyers to complete a juris doctor degree from a law school.
Demand for this Profession:
Some important qualities that are needed in order to become a lawyer are having analytical skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, research skills, speaking skills, and writing skills.
Reflection:
Becoming a lawyer is definitely a career I would like to have in the future. It has always been a dream of mine. I am very open-minded about this position and I would love to become one because I want to be fair and do what it is right and resolve problems. I would like to study criminal justice.
