A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity
Dr. Ben Carson once said “I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty.) It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it.” Ben Carson was once a poor child. He or his family didn’t know to read. He was the worst in his class. He always wondered why everyone knew the answers to every question in class. But one day he decided he wanted to change that. He read books while everyone was having a good time outside playing. He wanted a better future for himself. He didn’t like the poverty so did something about it. He knew he could come out of it if he worked hard for it. So he did. This is a very inspiring quote. I think everyone should live by it. Ben Carson shows us by example that it is possible to do anything you want if you truly believe you can do it and work hard for it.
